Donald J. Ogden, 77, of Mason City died at 3:32am on Friday, April 2, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1932 the son of Clarence and Flossie (Stokes) Ogden in Isabel, IL. He married Paula Wooldridge on December 30, 1977, she survives.
Survivors are his wife Paula; three sons: Joe (Susan) Ogden of Springfield, Ronald (Candy) Ogden of Sherman, Thomas Eugene (companion, Michelle Wagner); three daughters: Donna (Doug) Meaker of Mason City, Kim (Donnie) Mast of Humboldt, Julie Phelps of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Natalie (John) Notto, Makalya Meaker, Noah Meaker, Christopher Hilscher, Derek Wooldridge, Dayton Leinweber, Dalee Leiweber, Collin Phelps; two great-grandchildren: Landon Notto and Ayla Wooldridge and two cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Mr. Ogden graduated Redmon High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was manager of Kaiser Ag Chemicals and Specialty Seeds Salesman for Vigoro Seeds in Mason City. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Mason City and Jackson Keen Post 496.
Services will be at 11:30am on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the United Presbyterian Church, visitation will start at 9:30am. Pastor Charlotte Poetschner will officiate with burial following at the Mason City Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Chronic Disease Fund or his church. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
