Donald E. Knuppel 1939 - 2010
Donald E. Knuppel, 71, of Van Wert, OH, formerly of Easton, passed away at 3:32 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. He was born January 8, 1939 in Pekin, IL to Elvin G. and Ellen (Gould) Knuppel. He married Patricia A. Close on August 28, 2004. She survives. Mr. Knuppel is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Van Wert, OH, son Dan (Sarah) Knuppel of Forsyth, IL, daughter, Karen (Greg) Geis of Medina, TX, step son, Scott Pearish of Lakeville, IN, two sisters, Nancy Grieve and Martha (Larry) Vogel Bragg, one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Knuppel owned and operated a long established family business, Knuppel Oil Co., of Easton, IL. He was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Easton Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a graduate of Easton High School, attended Bradley University and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements. |
