Duane Truman Woll

1916 - 2006

Duane Truman Woll, 90, of San Jose died at 11:43 p.m. on Monday August 7, 2006 at the Hopedale Medical Center. He was born to Truman and Maude (Caswell) Woll on May 8, 1916 in San Jose. He married Ruth Ziervogel on August 5, 1945 in Chicago, IL. She survives.

Mr. Woll is survived by his wife of San Jose; one son Alan (Joyce) Woll of Powder Springs, GA; one daughter Karen Woll of Chicago; one granddaughter – Jamie Woll of Pekin, IL; two grandsons Matthew Woll of Powder Springs, GA and Christopher Woll of Dallas, TX; and one brother Jeane (Rachel) Woll of San Jose. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Margaret Woodsen.

Mr. Woll is a member of the San Jose United Methodist Church. He is a 1934 graduate of San Jose High School and attended Brown Business College in Peoria.  He was the President of the San Jose Lions Club when it was formed in 1956. He was an office worker for J. I. Case Co. in Rockford, IL and later for International Harvester in Chicago. He then moved on to become office manager of National Can Company in Chicago. Finally he owned and operated Truman Woll & Sons with his brother. Mr. Woll had worked as the Treasurer of the Village of San Jose for the past 50 years, retiring in June 2006. 

Services for Mr. Woll will be held on Saturday August 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at his church with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Encryptment will follow at American Mausoleum in Peoria.
