Charles Edwin "Eddie" Markley

1939 - 2008

Charles Edwin “Eddie” Markley, 68, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care Center at 12:05 p.m. on February 7, 2008. He was born Aug. 3, 1939 in Havana, to Ralph and Frances (Welch) Markley. He married Catherine Joanne Green on August 6, 1961 in Bath, IL.

Mr. Markley is survived by his wife and mother, both of Havana;  two daughters; Lori (Todd) List of Eldridge, Iowa, Carrie (Dave) VanNoorden of Saratoga, CA, two sons; Tim (Angie) Markley of Eureka, MO and Jason Markley of Havana, four brothers: Ronald (Suzanna) Markley of Billings, MT, Larry (Sheila) Markley of Hannibal, MO, Marshall (Terry) Markley of Havana, Dwayne (Annie) Markley of Moline, IL and two sisters: Mary Ann (Charles “Butch”) Beams of Kilbourne and Tama (David) Wessel of Chandlerville, IL and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and one infant sister, Marilyn.

Mr. Markley worked as a plumber with his father from 1956 until his death in 1983 and continued his work until retirement in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 with Warren Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb 10, 2008 from 5 – 7 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
