Havana, IL - Edith Mabel Beckman, 101, of 521 E. Market St., Havana, IL died at 3:10 am Sun. Feb. 26, 2006 at her residence. She was born Dec. 7, 1904 in Crane Creek Twp., Mason County to William and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Koke Umland. She married Carl J. Beckman Feb. 20, 1929 in Havana and he preceded her in death March 17, 2002.

She is survived by one daughter, Maxine Wallbaum of Havana; three grandchildren, Phyllis Wallbaum of Peoria, John Wallbaum of Havana and John Beckman of Tomball, TX.; three great grandchildren, Zachery, Derek and Lindsey Beckman all of TX and one sister, Nelda Friedrich of Havana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Nelson Beckman, one grandson Alan Wallbaum and one sister Emma Keith.

Mrs. Beckman was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana; the last living charter member of St. Paul’s Altar Guild and a member of MEB Birthday Club.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Wed. March 1, 2006 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana conducted by Pastor Martin W. Liebmann. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at her church (10:00 until 11:00 am). Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Altar Guild or Mason District Hospital Home Health.
