Edna P. Tibbs

(May 6, 1932 - March 11, 2006)

Edna Pauline Tibbs, 73, of Greenview, died on March 11, 2006 at 2:40 am at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on May 6, 1932 in Ashland, IL to William and Lena Stigall Scholes. She married Lawrence A. Tibbs on May 16, 1953 in Jacksonville, IL.

She is survived by five sons, Bruce (Lori) Tibbs, and Mark (Debra) Tibbs both of Greenview, Eric (Michelle) Tibbs of Havana, Mike Tibbs of Greenview, Lynn Tibbs of Las Vegas; a daughter, Tracie Oster of Greenview; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Ryman and Marie Bell both of Virginia, IL; two brothers, Harold Scholes and Paul Scholes of Virginia, IL; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by two twin infant sons, Douglas and Dennis, three brothers, and one sister.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Associaton or the American Heart Association.
