Edna L. Garlisch
1923 - 2011

Edna L. Garlisch, 87, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Havana, passed away at Indiana University Hospital in Bloomington, IN at 6:36 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011. She was born September 1, 1923 in Astoria, IL to Harry and Leah Faye (Mathias) Grove. She married Clarence Garlisch on January 12, 1947 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2001.
Mrs. Garlisch is survived by one son, Raymond (Sheryl) Garlisch of Bloomington, IN, three grandchildren, Jason, Laurie and Carrie Garlisch, all of Bloomington, IN and one sister, Mary Ogden of Lewistown, IL as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Garlisch was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana where she was a member of the Ladies Aide Society. In 2006 she moved to Bloomington, IN to be closer to her family. In Indiana, she attended Faith Lutheran Church of Bloomington. She graduated from Graham School of Nursing in 1945 and worked as an R.N. at Mason District Hospital in Havana for many years, retiring in 1982.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lewistown. Rev. Martin W. Liebmann will officiate.
