Edward Guinan

(1925 -2010)

Edward Guinan, 85, of Petersburg passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on January 3, 1925 in Springfield to Francis and Emma Maslin Guinan. He married Rita Myers in Springfield on May 20, 1948.

He is survived by his wife, Rita of Petersburg; daughter, Mary Patricia Cline of Rhode Island; a brother, James Maslin (Barbara) Guinan of Petersburg; a sister, Mary McNerney of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren, Kelly Anne (Mike) Drapeau, Jason (Mary) Cline, Les (Julie) Wankel, Tim (Kendra) Wankel, and Kyle (Fiance Stephanie Davis) Wankel; seven great grandchildren,  Emma Rose Wankel, Colton Timothy Wankel, Maggie Rae Wankel, Natalie Marcella Cline, Alexandra Rose Cline, Katelyn Drapeau, and Nathan Drapeau.

His parents and a daughter, Rose Marie Guinan, preceded him in death.

Mr. Guinan was a farmer. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was also a charter member of Shambolee Golf Course, and past member of KC Club #364. He graduated in 1943 from Petersburg Harris High School.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church in Petersburg. Father Anthony Pilli will be officiating.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
