Edwin John Limback (1916-2005) Edwin Limback of Mason City, IL died 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born December 8, 1916 in Mason County to Jess and Elizabeth (Durdel) Limback. He married Willie Mae Carroll on July 26, 1943. She survives in Mason City. Survivors include 4 daughters: June (Charles) Huffer in Lincoln, Nancy (Jake) Adams of Babbitt, MN; Cathy (Robert) Hellrigel of Delevan, and Linda (Louis) Wagner of Easton; one son: David (Nancy) Limback of St. Louis, MO; 2 brothers: Lawrence (Pauline) of Forest City and Norman (Isabel) Limback of Farmington, NM; one sister: Ruth (Bob) Goggins of Morton, IL; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and one sister. Mr. Limback was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #496. He served in the Air Force from 1941-1945 during WWII and retired after farming for many years. Funeral services for Mr. Limback will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2005 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at 9:30 until the time of the services. The Rev. J. Derek Riddle will officiate with burial in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Manito. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason City Area Nursing Home or St. Luke's Lutheran Church. |
