Eleanor Eileen Mead

Eleanor Eileen Mead, 79, of Kansas
City, MO, passed away at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO at
7:58 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011. She was born January 25, 1932 in Kilbourne,
IL to Marshall and Lola Clark. She married Bronald “Bud” Mead on June 1, 1969 in
Macomb.
Mrs. Mead is survived by her
husband Bud, of Lee’s Summit, MO, two daughters, Diane (Dan) Boyd of Naperville,
IL and Melinda (Chris ) Hall of Lee’s Summit, MO, as well as four grandchildren,
Stephanie (Ryan) Starr, Emily Boyd, Lauren Hall and Ryan Hall. Also surviving is
one sister, Joyce (Dean) Williams of Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death
by one son, Steven Clark Callaway and one sister, Marilyn McCracken.
Mrs. Mead was a member of the
Kilbourne Baptist Church. She was a teacher for 30 years in the Macomb, IL
school system. After retiring, she moved to Columbia, MO and continued to work
in education. She was a member of the National Educators Association.
Funeral services will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Kilbourne Baptist Church with
visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at
Kilbourne Cemetery. Rev. Abraham Mogerman will officiate.
