Elmer James Eryse
1927 - 2006 Chandlerville, IL - Elmer James Eyrse, Sr., 79, of Chandlerville passed away at Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1927 in San Jose, IL the son of Elmer E. and Pearl McGrady Eyrse. He married Bonnie Higdon June 15, 1953 in Delavan, IL and she preceded him in death April 26, 2005. Mr. Eyrse was a truck driver his entire life, he served in the US Army in the South Pacific during WWII, was a member of the Chandlerville American Legion, Midwest Truckers Union and the Sheriff’s Association. He is survived by three sons, Elmer "Jim" (Charleen) Eyrse, Jr. Of Channahon, IL; David (companion: Cathy Curl) Eyrse of Chapin, IL; Kevin (Shannon) Eyrse of Springfield, IL; three daughters, Pam (Sam) Fisher of Mechanicsville, VA; Deb (companion Jim Henry) Eyrse of Chandlerville; and Lisa (companion: Brad Bess) Eyrse of Nebo, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, one brother, James Eyrse of Morton, IL; and two sisters, Bertha McLaughlin of East Peoria and Dorothy (Donald) Neville of Morton, IL. Mr. Eyrse was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandson. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thurs. Nov. 30, 2006 at the Chandlerville Christian Church conducted by Rev. Jim Waterman. Burial will be in the Chandlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Wed. at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chandlerville American Legion, the American Heart Association, Memorial Medical Center or the charity of the donor’s choice.
