Elsie Lockhart 1918 - 2007
Elsie Lockhart, 89, of Springfield, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Heritage Manor in Springfield. She was born on March 25, 1918 in Oakford to Fred and Nancy Nelson Schonewise. She married Donald Lockhart in Greenview on October 4, 1941. She is survived by a son, Don (Sue) Lockhart of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Karon Cline of Woodstock, GA, and Sharon Marshall of Springfield; a sister, Sophia Deverman of Springfield; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Her husband, five brothers, and one sister preceded her in death. She was retired from the State of Illinois. She was a member of the Greenview Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 12:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Charlotte Poetschner will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
