Ely E. "Buss" Pedigo
1918 - 2011
Ely E. “Buss” Pedigo, 92, of Easton, passed away peacefully at 4:10 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City. Buss was born on November 6, 1918 in Mason County, the son of Franklin and Mayme Pedigo. He is survived by his youngest sister, Louise Zerwekh, of Peoria, and sister-in-law, Shirley Lynn of Easton. Also surviving are six nephews, three nieces, seven great-nephews, seven great-nieces, and several great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an older brother, Edgar Pedigo and younger sisters, Esther (Susan) Kauffmann and Dorothy Geitl.
He was a devoted son and brother, nurturing and caring for his family after his father’s early death. Buss worked hard helping run their Mason County farm. After retiring from farming, Buss continued to take pride in his vegetable garden, giving away his vegetables to his family and many friends.
Buss will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 with Nash Shawgo officiating. Burial will follow the services at Walker’s Grove Cemetery near Easton.
