Eric Richard Albers

1984-2011

Eric Richard Albers, 27, of San Jose, IL, passed away surrounded by his family on June 8, 2011, fighting a courageous two year battle with cancer. Eric was born in Peoria, IL on May 2, 1984 to Kim and Debra (Lux) Albers. He married Elizabeth “Liz” Christopher on May 23, 2009 at the San Jose United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his parents; Kim and Debra, his wife; Liz, and their two dogs; Moose and Roxy. Also surviving are one sister; Elise Albers, one brother; Ean Albers, one nephew; Jackson Albers, his paternal grandparents; Robert and LaVera Albers and his mother-in-law; Carol Christopher. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Robert and Joyce Lux, and his father-in-law; Roger Christopher.

Eric was a member of the United Methodist Church of San Jose. He was also a member of the Ducks Unlimited Manito Chapter. He loved hunting and fishing. Eric loved to play softball. He cherished the time he got to spend with his family and friends. Eric was a graduate of Illini Central High School. He also attended Lincoln College. He was a Sales technician for Christopher Sales and Service.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the San Jose United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Stephen King at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church in San Jose on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Pekin Cancer Center. Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose is in charge of the arrangements.
