Erma Maysoll Haynes

1918 - 2011

Erma Maysoll Haynes, 92, of Havana, formerly of Canton and Kewanee, passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 12:55 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born December 18, 1918 in Ray, IL to Harry Earl and Mary Etta (Rose) Morris. She married Donald Dell Haynes in Fulton County, IL in 1935. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1978.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by son, William Dell (Sharon) Haynes of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter, Sherry (Greg) Andrew of Pekin, and five grandchildren, David William Haynes, Diana Heather Robson, Jenell Flemming, Jamie Andrew, Joanna Andrew and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Morris and Howard Morris, and one sister, Hildress Rose Smith.

Mrs. Haynes was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Havana and the Eastern Star. She had volunteered for many years for her church, the American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels and as a girl scout leader. She and her husband ran Carp’s Store in Havana from 1950 until the mid 1970s.

Funeral services will be held at the 1st United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate.
