Esther V. Imig

(1915-2008)

Esther V. Imig, 93, of Mason City died at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born January 9, 1915 the daughter of Charles and Verna (Bale) Ingersoll in San Jose, IL.  She married Lorin C. Imig on June 18, 1930 in Peoria, IL.  He preceded her in death in 1964. 

Survivors are one son: Lyle (Donna) Imig of Winter Haven, Florida, one daughter; Marilyn (Bill) Buse of Mason City, IL, one grandson; Michael Imig and one great granddaughter; Rachael Imig. She is also survived by one niece and one nephew. 

Mrs. Imig is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson; Kevin Imig, three sisters; Efie Beard, Edith Lohmann and Eula Steiner and one brother; Archie Ingersoll. 

Esther and her husband farmed in Rural Mason City from 1936 to 1958.  Then they later moved to Indiana and farmed there until 1964. After her husbands death she moved back to Mason City.  

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.  Pastor Stephen King will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Mason City Area Nursing Home or United Methodist Church.  Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
