Esther Anderson

1917 - 2011

Esther Anderson, 94, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011. She was born June 21, 1917 near Easton, IL to John and Sarah (Hagam) Griffin. She married Chester W. Anderson on December 25, 1937 in Covington, IN and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1999.

She is survived by one niece Shirley Pottorf and caregivers, Randy and Vicky Stockham of Havana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, nine nephews and three nieces.

She was a member of the Havana Central Christian Church. She retired from Crescent Forge and Shovel in Havana in 1981, where she had worked as a bookkeeper and purchasing agent.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delevan. Rev. Emily Williams will officiate.
