Esther May Hazel 1944 - 2008
Esther May Hazel, 64, of Havana,
passed away at OSF – St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on Thursday, September
11, 2008 at 1:49 p.m. She was born in Lincoln, IL on
February 11, 1944 to Doyne Shipp
and Joseph Henry Miller. Mrs. Hazel is survived by two sons: Thomas Hazel of Sammamish, WA and Michael Hazel of Lincoln, IL, and one daughter Rebecca Parkinson of Carbondale, IL, 9 grandchildren (3 boys & 6 girls) and her brother Charles Miller and sister Mary (James) Lynn. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Dave Fornoff, her ex-husband, Harry Hazel and several nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Hazel attended Bradley University and later Graham Hospital School of Nursing,
where she completed her training to become a registered nurse. Esther was proud
of her RN status and was very caring and loved by many. Funeral
services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Thursday,
September 18, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior to the services.
Burial will follow the services at Walker’s Grove Cemetery near Easton, IL. Online
