Evelyn Mae Blessman Fletcher 1935 - 2008
Evelyn Mae Blessman Fletcher, 73, of Havana, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on September 2, 2008 at 10:01 a.m. She was born June 1, 1935 in Lynchburg Township, daughter of Freeman and Esther (Ogden) Blessman. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Russell. On August 23, 1953 she married Jim Fletcher, who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Rodney of Plainfield and Gregory of Gardner, and one daughter, Julia (Mike) Besley of Minooka; five grandchildren, David, Erica, Steven Fletcher and Rachel and Mikayla Besley. Having lived in Plainfield, IL from 1960 until 2003, Evelyn and Jim returned to this area in 2003 and made their home at Matanzas Beach, south of Havana. Evelyn was a graduate of Bath-Lynchburg High School in 1953. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery in Snicarte. Rev. Mike Hopps will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Mason District Hospital or to Fairview Cemetery Fund.
