Dorothy Evelyn Strader

(1923 - 2006)

Dorothy Evelyn Strader, 82, of Easton died Friday March 10, 2006 at 1:48am at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.  She was born to Russell & Pearl (Clark) Riegel, June 24, 1923 in Crane Creek Twp., in Easton.  She married Virgil Strader January 31, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois.  He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Strader is survived by one daughter: Janet (Jim) Ovall of Easton, two sons: Marvin (Nedra) Strader of Easton and Douglas Strader of Pekin, three grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren, two brothers: Gerald Riegel of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida and Ronald (Dixie) Riegel of Easton, several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Strader was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, Mason County Farm Bureau, Home Extension and United Methodist Woman’s Club.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 5-7 p.m.at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10:00am also at Hurley Funeral Home.  The Rev. Al Sample will be officiating. Burial will be at Walker’s Grove Cemetery in Easton, following the services.
