Floye B. Hughes
1922 - 2006
Floye was Village Clerk of Kilbourne for 35+ years and had been a short-order cook at The Poplar Inn and Shirley’s Diner, both of Kilbourne. She was an active member of the Kilbourne Baptist Church serving in hte Dorcas Circle and the Missionary Society prior to her illness, after which she resided for 14 years in Havana Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by five children: Jeanette (Richard) McCaulley, E. Peoria, Charles (Linda) Hughes, Morton, Danny (Cheryl) Hughes, Kilbourne, IL, Vivian (Jim) Freeman, Kilbourne, IL and Kathleen (Bill) Hahn, Bath, IL. She is survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, Lloyd (Lora) Conklin, Havana and James (Donna) Conklin, Petersburg; and four sisters, Evelyn Williamson, West Allis, WI; Nina Patrick, Bath; Daisy Emmons, Alton, IL; and Patsy Kramer, Bloomington, IL. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Sat. Nov. 11, 2006 at the Kilbourne Baptist Church conducted by Pastor David Byrd. Burial will be in the Kilbourne Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to Havana Healthcare Christmas Fund.
