Frances Halberstadt

(1922 -2010)

Frances C. Halberstadt, 87, of Mukwonago, WI, formerly of Springfield, went to be with her Lord and sweetheart “Bud” on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1:00 a.m. at Linden Grove Healthcare Center. She was born November 22, 1922 in Springfield, IL to Carl H. and Nora Mae Ratz Fleck. She married Albert F. “Bud” Halberstadt in Springfield on June 28, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1989.

She is survived by a son, Tom E. (Pat) Halberstadt of Petersburg; three daughters, Annetta L. (Mark) Vercel of Mukwonago, WI, Elizabeth M. Halberstadt of Decatur, GA, and Brenda A. (Tim) Kelly of Waterford, WI; a brother, James L. Fleck of Springfield; two sisters, Theresa Hammit of Springfield, and Florence Wehmeyer of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a good and loving friend, Sharon Pieper of Mukwonago, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Harley Patterson; three brothers, Joseph Fleck, Carl “Buzzy” Fleck, and Julius Fleck; and three sisters, Rose Marie Pope, Betty Terry, and Mary Becker.

She retired from Avon products.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Ken Gennicks will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Francis Halberstadt memorial fund.
