Freda M. Brown
1918 - 2009
Freda M. Brown, 91, of Chandlerville, passed away at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield at 9:20 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009. She was
born January 13, 1918 in Virginia, IL to John and Frances (Collins) Cox. She
married Richard Brown on November 20, 1937 in Bowling Green, MO. He preceded her
in death on November 20, 2000.
Mrs. Brown is survived by
two daughters, Eula (Al) Baker, Donna (Doug) Gerdes, and one son, Roy (Sharla)
Brown, all of Chandlerville. Also surviving is one brother, John (Mary) Cox, of
Virginia, IL, 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and many great-great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers, 5
sisters, and one son Richard Allen Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a member of
the Panther Creek New Beginnings Church in Chandlerville.
Funeral services will be
held at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville on Thursday, December
17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening at the
funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services at
Chandlerville Cemetery. Hugh Carlock will officiate.
