Fredonia Ritchey

1925 - 2010

Lois Fredonia Ritchey, 84, of Havana, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born August 26, 1925 in Chandlerville, IL to George and Eva Jane (Miller) Williams. She married William Bryan Ritchey on June 7, 1947.

Mrs. Ritchey is survived by a sister, Essie Smith of Havana, a son, Bill Ritchey of Portland, OR and a son-in-law and daughter, David and Montelee Pietrzak of Havana. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, Jim Howard and John (Freddie) and one sister, Charlita Madtson.

Fredonia was employed at Camp Ellis and several Havana businesses. She retired from the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office in Springfield, IL after 17 years there.

Mrs. Ritchey attended North Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pekin, IL

Funeral services will  be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Dave Bowman will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Snicarte Cemetery.
