Anna K. Garlisch 1917-2009
Anna K. Garlisch, 92, of Mason City passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City. She was born August 28, 1917 the daughter of Ralph and Lena (Diers) Jacobs. She married Carl J. Garlisch on February 5, 1946 in Chapin, IL. He preceded her in death. She is survived by five children: Eldon (Cheryl) Garlisch of San Jose, Roger Garlisch of Mason City, Janet (Don) Whiteman of Pekin, Albert (Brenda) Garlisch of Easton and Karlene (Alan) Grelck of Bolingbrook. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, five step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one step grandson. Anna graduated from Cherry Grove School in rural Mason City. She was a member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Pastor J. Derek Riddle will officiate. Burial will be at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Memorials may be made to the Mason City Area Nursing Home or St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of handling the arrangements. |
