Herman Eugene Lemme (1940 - 2005) Herman "Gene" Lemme, 65 of Mason City, died at 3:20 a.m., Thursday, November, 24, 2005 at his home. He was born July 16, 1940 in Lnicoln, IL to Herman A. and Mary Eulene (Short) Lemme. He married Sharon J. Fuller on December 4, 1961 in Florida and she survives. Also surviving are three sons: J.R. Lemme, Bryan (Gina) Lemme and Brad Lemme, all of Mason City. He has eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Two brothers, Billy (Lori) Lemme of Mason City and Robert Lee Lemme of Hilton Head, SC also survive. Mr. Lemme was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City, where he was a member of the church choir and a trustee. He was also a wood carver and member of the Prarie Land Dance Club. He formerly worked at Martinie's Service Station, Ainsworth Seed Company, Caterpillar, Inc. and was a custodian at Illini Central School. Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City where visitation will be held two hours prior. Rev. James Childs will officiate with Mrs. Mary Joy Ewers playing the organ. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview, IL at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to his church of to the American Cancer Society. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements. |
