Geneveive "Jennie" Stevens 1914 - 2008
Genevieve “Jennie” Stevens, 93, of Petersburg died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday March 1, 2008 at Menard Convalescent Center. She was born September 21, 1914, in Auburn, to Claud and Daisy Plunkett Hodgen. She married Lee Holmes, and later married Lloyd Stevens, both husbands precede her in death. She is survived by three nieces Arden (Jesse) Raines of Tavares, Fl., Jennie L. Whisnant of Springfield, and Nancy S. Stueck of St. Charles, one cousin Patricia Irwin of Pleasant Plains. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, and one sister. “Jennie” was a homemaker in her later years in her own home and was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 4, 2008 at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, the Rev. Don Pritchard will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before services on Tuesday also at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. On line memorials may be made at www.hurleyfh.com.
