George H. Stier

(1936 - 2006)

George Herman Stier, 69, of Petersburg, died on March 9, 2006 at 12:20 pm at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on September 4, 1936 in Springfield to Louie and Hermina Winkelmann Stier. He married Nancy Stier on April 24, 1960 in Greenview. She survives.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Leigh Ann (Rod) Harrison; a brother, Harold Stier; and a sister, Hermina Stier, all of Petersburg.

Mr. Stier retired from the Department of Transportation in Springfield, IL. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Kiwanis of Petersburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Friday, March 10, 2006 from 5 pm till 7 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
