Gerald V. Elmore
(1918-2006)
Gerald V. Elmore, 88 formerly of Mason City died at 6:43am on Thursday,
December 14, 2006 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born February 19, 1918
in Mason City to Raleigh and Anna (Nitchowski) Elmore. He married Betty Jane Burchell in 1946 in Peoria, she precedes him in death.
Survivors are three sons: Gerald Lee Elmore Jr. of East Peoria, Richard (Merrilynn)
Elmore of Peoria, Thomas (Maggie) Elmore of Peoria; two daughters: Cynthia
Elmore and Cheryl Schmidt both of Peoria; 10 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Elmore is preceded in death by, two sons, 1 brother and two sisters.
Mr. Elmore retired from P & PU Railroad after many years of service; he served in
the Army during WWII. He also loved karaoke, dancing and carpentry.
There will be a graveside service held at 10:00 Tuesday 19, 2006 Mason City
Cemetery. The Reverend H. Curtis McAllister will officiate.
