Geraldine "Gerry" D. McDole

1923 - 2007

Geraldine “Gerry” D. McDole, 83, of Petersburg, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her home. She was born in Oakford, IL on October 29, 1923, the daughter of the late Powell “Tade” Atterberry and May Atterberry Roehrig. She married Woodrow McDole on February 19, 1949 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1982.

Surviving are two daughters, Woodine Heather and Peggy (Mike) Blasko of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Joshua Heather of Ashland, Megan and Kelleigh Blasko of Petersburg; two brothers, Carl T. Atterberry of Petersburg and David K. (Audrey) Atterberry of Buffalo; one sister, Margaret Smith of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jesse Ralph, George, and Powell Atterberry; and one sister, Naomi Aden.

She was a homemaker and was well known for her homemade peanut brittle.

Visitation will be held at Petersburg Church of Christ, 701 S. 12^th St., Petersburg, from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2007. A graveside service in Rose Hill Cemetery will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 10:30 am. Rev. Stan Rodda will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to her family or to the Donors Choice.
