Gertie C. Warfield 1933 - 2008
Gertie C. Warfield, 75, of Petersburg, died on April 6, 2008 at 12:15 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on January 30, 1933 in Leitchfield, KY to Vernon and Pearlie Overton Kiper. She married Roy W. Warfield on February 12, 1949 in Leitchfield. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1997. She is survived by one son, Earl Douglas (Joyce) Warfield of Dawson; three daughters, Linda (Dan) Patrick of Athens, Marsha (Dean) Gum of Petersburg; and Debra (Tim) Boyer of Petersburg; one brother, Fred Kiper of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Mary Agnes Cravens and Virginia Carter, both of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, two brothers, and one sister preceded her. She had assisted her husband in managing a Kerr-McGee Gas Station in Petersburg. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Kevin Davis. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
