Lewistown, IL - Glenda Joyce Gilson, 56, of
rural Lewistown passed away at 1:00 am Mon., Oct. 9, 2006 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 24, 1950 in McDonough County the daughter of Ivan and
Maxine Knox Berry. She married Denny Gilson April 29, 1970 and he survives.
Mrs. Gilson is also survived by her mother, Maxine Hoffsteter of Eldorado, IL; two daughters, Misty Martin of Farmington, IL and Tammy Cumpston of Canton, IL; one son, John Gilson of Bushnell, IL three grandchildren, Kayla and Kristian Cumpston and Ben Martin; one brother, Kim Whitman of Oklahoma and one sister Sherry Young of Harrisburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Rosanne Berry and Debbie Cox. She was taken care of for the past 5 years by her care giver, Christine Jenkins of St. David. She worked for many years in the housekeeping department of Clarytona Nursing Home in Lewistown. Cremation rites will be accorded at a later date.
