Glenn Fricke 

(1927 - 2009)

Glenn E. Fricke, 82, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1927 in Petersburg to William and Eda Roegge Fricke. He married Carol Hoffman on January 23, 1955 in Beardstown.

 

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Petersburg; two sons, Stephen (Deborah) Fricke, and Larry (Bonnie) Fricke, all of Petersburg; a brother, William J. (Marilyn) Fricke of Petersburg; a sister, Bernice Schneider of Dewark, OH; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

One son, Douglas Fricke; four brothers, Earl, Gilbert, Paul, and John Fricke; and a sister, Ruth Adam, preceded him in death.

 

Mr. Fricke was a life long farmer. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg, where he was a member of the church board. He was also a member of Menard County Farm Bureau. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War as a medic.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeffrey Gross will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
