Goldie E. Kirk 1930 - 2007
Chandlerville, IL - Goldie E. Kirk, 77, of Chandlerville, IL passed away at 2:30 pm Mon., Oct. 1, 2007 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born March 1, 1930 in Crittenden County, Kentucky the daughter of James D. and Daisy Elizabeth Smith Hall. She married Harry Darnell who preceded her in death. She later married Ollie Kirk Aug. 17, 1964 in Elizabethtown, IL and he survives. Mrs. Kirk was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had formerly worked as a home health aid and CNA at the Martin Manor Nursing Home in Havana and the Beardstown Long Term Care facility. She is survived by three daughters; Kathy McKinley and Nita Kirk both of Canton, IL; Rita (Charles Hardy) Kirk of Meredosia, IL; one son, Rocky Darnell of Marion, KY; fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Osmond of Harrisburg, IL. She was preceded in death by two sons, Pete and Wally Darnell, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Oct. 5 at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville conducted by Dean Bale. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery near Chandlerville.
