Havana, IL - James Gregory "Smitty" Smith, 21, of 326 E. Main St., Havana, IL died at 10:00 pm Tues. Feb. 14, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born April 13, 1984 in Portsmouth, Virginia.

He was a graduate of Havana High School where he played football and basketball and was a peer facilitator.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Mark A. and Jennifer Smith Thompson, two brothers, Cordel and Kyle Thompson and one sister, Amanda Thompson all of Havana. His grandparents, James E. and Sandra K. Smith also survive of Havana.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with burial in the Kilbourne Cemetery at Kilbourne, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 pm Thurs. At the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund in his name.
