Hazel L. Imig 1921 - 2006
Hazel L. Imig, 85, of San Jose, IL died at Pekin Hospital at 2:24 a.m. on Saturday September 30, 2006. She was born on September 25, 1921 to Louis G. and Emma (Grube) Moehring in rural San Jose. She married Walter Imig on November 25, 1945 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church near San Jose. Mrs. Imig is survived by her husband Walter, one son: Steve Imig of Palos Hills, IL and one daughter: Judith (Dennis) Rauch of Mason City; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Frances Wiemer of Mason City, Florence Stivers of Grand Rapids, MI, Esther Leinweber of Mason City and Jeannie Dirks of San Jose and four brothers: Louis Moehring Jr., of Delavan, Henry Moehring of San Jose, Raymond Moehring of Tucson, AZ and Donald Moehring of Bossier City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Moehring and sister Elizabeth Fosnaugh. Mrs. Imig worked for State Farm Insurance during WWII, Dr. Maxfield in Mason City, the Mason City Banner Times and retired from the San Jose Tri-County Bank. She was a graduate of San Jose High School. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at Allen’s Grove where she was on the church council, Ladies Aide and in the choir. She also enjoyed bowling and square dancing with the Tri-County Twirlers. Funeral services will be held at her church on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2006 also at her church. Burial will follow the services at Allen’s Grove Cemetery. Rev. J. Derek Riddle will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
