Heather Noelle Cotner

1975 - 2010

Heather Noelle Cotner, 35, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010 at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1975 in Springfield to Wayne and Jana Ortgessen Winkelmann.  She married John Cotner on March 17, 2001 in Petersburg.

She is survived by her husband John and two children, Mackenzie and Cael Cotner of Petersburg; her parents, Wayne and Jana Winkelmann of Petersburg; a brother, Jay (wife Christy) Winkelmann, nieces Laura and Sara of Oakford; and grandparents, William and Helen Ortgessen and Esther Winkelmann, all of Petersburg.  Family was the most important thing in Heather's life and she loved spending time with them, especially with her children.

Heather graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences.  She served as president of the Champaign County Schools Credit Union and also as president of the Memorial Health System Employee Credit Union.  She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg.

Visitation will be at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg on Monday, June 28 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg, at 11:00 am.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
