Helen McCreery (1918-2005) Helen McCreery of Mason City, died 11:45 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2005 at Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born July 20, 1918 to Porter and Blanche (Perkins) Garrison in Mason City. She married Walter McCreery on December 24, 1935. He died in January of 2001. Survivors include 2 sons: William (Janet) McCreery of Mason City and Ronald (Nancy) McCreery of Bolingbrook, IL; 2 brothers: Porter Garrison Jr. of Mason City and Tommy Garrison of Lincoln, IL; one sister: Annis Tracy of Mason City; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister. Mrs. McCreery was a homemaker, member of the Mason City Christian Church, Sunday School Teacher for many years, Happy Home Unit of the Home Bureau, and Mason City Women's Club. Services for Mrs. McCreery will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Mason City Christian Church. The Rev. Dustin Fulton and Rev. Robert Paddack will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior the services at the church with burial in Mason City Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Alzheimer's Association-Greater Illinois Chapter. |
