Helen Louise Newman, 91, of Petersburg , formerly Tucson , AZ , died on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg . She was born on November 19, 1915 in Petersburg to Howard and Mary Dirks Horn. She married John Newman on June 30, 1967 in Tucson , AZ.

She is survived by her husband, John Newman of Tucson , AZ ; one sister, Clara Kaiser of Greenview; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son , John Howard Council.

Mrs. Newman was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
