Helen Lucille Prettyman

1922 - 2010

Helen Lucille Prettyman, 88, of Havana, passed away at her home at 4:55 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010. She was born January 22, 1922 in Cuba, IL to Fred and Hazel (Rowe) Irwin. She married Clarence Prettyman on January 24, 1940 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1990.

Mrs. Prettyman is survived by two daughters, Alice Miller of Havana and Sharon Lascelles of Bath, four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Albert Lewis Irwin, ½ sister, Hildred Vogel and son in law, Marvin Lascelles.

Mrs. Prettyman was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Havana, where she taught Sunday School and served on many boards and committees. She was a former member of the Havana Women's Club, Easton Women's Club, Havana Home Extension, a volunteer at Mason District Hospital and a donation collector for the American Heart Association. She worked as the Head Dietitian at Havana High School from 1978 until 1989.

Funeral services will be held at the 1st Baptist Church in Havana at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Pastor Dave Byrd will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
