Havana, IL - Helen Mae Thomas, 89, of 547 ½ S, Orange St., Havana, IL died at 6:48 pm Wed. April 12, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born Feb. 7, 1917 in Chandlerville, IL to Lloyd and Nora Barrett Johnson. She married Cyrus Earl Thomas Dec. 9, 1942 in Havana and he died May 14, 1986.

Mrs. Thomas is a member of the Chandlerville Christian Church and a long time member of the Royal Neighbors of America. A 1935 graduate of Chandlerville High School, she had worked for the Middle States Telephone Company in Havana and later at Becker and Long’s Victory Room Restaurant also in Havana.

She is survived by several cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Lloyd Dale Johnson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Fri. April 14, 2006 at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana conducted by Warren Hughes. Memorial contributions may be made to Mason District Hospital in Havana, Laurel Hill Cemetery or the Chandlerville Christian Church. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
