Irene Bell, 98, of
Petersburg, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 4:57pm at
the Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg. She was born
on June 7, 1908 in Menard County, IL to Joseph and Emma
Sprinkle Page. She married Howard O. Bell in Petersburg in
1927. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a
daughter, Donna Hitchcock of Petersburg; two grandchildren,
David (Cindy) Hitchcock and Marsha (Gary) Winner both of
Petersburg; five great grandchildren, Charles Hitchcock of
Springfield, Matthew Hitchcock of Petersburg, Michael
(Jill) Winner of
Carterville, IL, Thomas Winner of
Springfield, Rebecca (Todd) Bielic of
Hamel, IL; two great great grandchildren, Lakyn and
Zachary Winner both of
Carterville, IL; and one great great great
grandchildren, Noah Taber of Carterville.
Her husband, and one
infant daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bell was a member
of the Petersburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed
playing piano and organ all of her life. She was a
homemaker.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25,
2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Petersburg United Methodist
Church. Pastor Robert Shook will be officiating. Visitation
will be held from 9:30 till 11:00 am on Saturday morning,
also at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Petersburg United
Methodist Church.
