Irvin Charles Clancy, 78 of Kilbourne, IL died at 12:29 pm Sept. 19, 2005 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL He was born Feb. 9, 1927 in Pottstown, IL the son of Michael Irvin and Gladys Patton Clancy. He married Patricia Chambers Martin Dec. 30, 1977 in Havana and she survives.

Also surviving are 4 sons: Donald (Suzanne) Clancy of Bath, IL, Ronald Clancy of Irvine, CA; Robert (Wendy) Martin & Michael (Margaret) Martin both of Havana, IL. Also surviving are two daughters: Cheryl (David) Drake of Athens, IL and Rebecca (Darin) Silva of Havana, IL.

There are 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One brother, James (Mary) Clancy survives of Peoria, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Kathy, and his twin sister, Vernetta.

Mr. Clancy was a semi-truck driver for Caterpillar, Inc retiring in 1982 after 34 years. He later worked as a security guard for Commercial National Bank in Peoria and St. Frances Hospital. He also did PR work for several area grocery stores. He was a member of the Mohammed Shrine in Peoria, the Masonic Lodge and the Blue Lodge.

 

Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, Father Michael Monclova officiating with burial in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
