Harold V. “Jack” Tomlin, 93, of Easton, died at 2:30pm on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born on June 27, 1918 the son of Fred and Ada (Venom) Tomlin in Teheran. He married Lorraine Wahlert on December 7, 1947 in Pekin, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Steven (Candy) Tomlin of Mason City; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tomlin was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, Mason County Farm Bureau, and Mutual Insurance Board. Jack farmed in the Easton and Mason City area for many years. He served in the United States Army during WWII serving at the Battle of the Bulge.
Funeral services will be at 11:30am, on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Easton, visitation will be a hour and half prior to service also at the church. Pastor Al Sample will officiate. Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery. Memorials may be left to his church. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
