James Otto (1918 -2009)
James Franklin Otto, 91, of Chandlerville, passed away on Tuesday, Decmeber 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born on January 12, 1918 in Bath, IL to John and Nancy Witherall Otto. He married Rosalind Bernice Everhart, she preceded him in death. He later married Beatrice Kay McEylea on June 10, 1964. They were divorced in 1987. He is survived by six sons, David (Irma) Otto of Carlinville, Cecil (companion, Jacqueline Shonnon) Otto of Chandlerville, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Otto of Perryton, TX, Gene (Melissa) Otto of Perryton, TX, James L. Otto, Sr., of Amarillo, TX, and John (Melanie) Otto of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; brother, Junior Otto of Astoria; sister, Mardell Phillips of Rushville; twenty-eight grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, James Franklin Otto, Jr; a daughter, Delores Bailey; five brothers; and one sister. Mr. Otto retired from the railroad after 26 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:00 am at Litner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
