James Andrew Hinds 1929 - 2008
James Andrew Hinds, 78, of Petersburg, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 7:40 pm. He was born on March 23, 1929 in Greenview to Ezra Franklin and Helen Elsie Turner Hinds. He was married to Mildred Skaggs from 1951 until 1992. One son survives him, James (Deanna) Hinds, Jr. of Lewistown; four daughters, Rosanne (Larry) Snyder of Petersburg, Debra (Dennis) Kemper of Pleasant Plains, Patricia (Joed) Earl of Petersburg, and Lisa (Timothy) Feagans of Jupiter, FL; a brother, Charles (Joanie) Hinds of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Hinds worked at Fiat Allis for 44 years and 10 months as a forklift operator. He was a veteran of the US Army. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Dan Roseberry will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Hospital Hospice Unit.
