Janet Prater

(1939-2005)

Janet Gay Prater of Kilbourne, IL died 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, IL.  She was born January 30, 1939 to Francis Oliver and Agnes (Kennedy) Beckmeyer.  She married Robert Prater on May 23, 1959 in Peoria Heights, IL. 

Survivors include her husband- Robert; one daughter- Nanette Prater of Denver, CO; two brothers- Jerry Brockmeyer of Sausus, CA and B.A. Brockmeyer of Denver, CO; and one sister-Linda Moffitt of Peoria, IL.  She was preceded in death by one sister-Nancy Gabbert and her parents.

Mrs. Prater was a partner at Prater Oil Company.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at Hurley Funeral Home on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.  The Rev. Ken Wagstaff will be officiating.  A visitation for Mrs. Prater will be on Friday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kilbourne Fire Department.
