Jeanie Henderson

1959-2012

 

Norma “Jeanie” Henderson, 52, of Athens formerly of Petersburg, died Friday January 6, 2012 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.

 Jeanie was born on August 17, 1959 in Havana, the daughter of Norman Brown and the late Edna Brown.  Jeanie was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother, Edna Brown; brother, Norman Lee Brown; an infant grandchild; and her dog Mickey.  She married Glenn Henderson on September 30, 1978 at the Tallula Calvary Baptist Church.

 Jeanie is survived by her father, Norman Brown of Petersburg; husband Glenn; daughters Renee and Rachel Henderson of Athens; step-daughter Brandy (Kery) Boosinger of Springfield; son Chris (Angie) Henderson of Petersburg; eight grandchildren, Carson, Ashton, Paige, Kimberly, Triston, Shawn, Angela and Michelle; sisters, Ella Mae Chambers and Brenda Humphrey of Petersburg and the many special people who had touched her life.

 Jeanie worked with the public and cleaned houses for many years.  Jeanie was always giving and saw only the good in everyone; she was an angel on Earth.  Jeanie loved her family more than anything and you could never catch her without a smile on her face.

Visitation for Jeanie will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am at Hurley Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10 and will proceed to Rose Hill Cemetery where Jeanie will be laid to rest.  There will be a gathering with a meal at the Petersburg Fire Department following the graveside service.
