Jeanne M. French

1921-2011

Jeanne M. French, 89, of Sherman passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 8:30 am at Villa Health Care East in Sherman. She was born on December 16, 1921 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Hazel Fox Gallis.  She married Kenneth D. French on September 14, 1946 in Cleveland, OH.

 Jeanne is survived by a daughter, Carol (husband Hugh) Merrill of Deerfield, IL; a son, Gary (wife Beth) French of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Garrick (wife Amber) Merrill of Huntsville, AL, Kim (husband Daniel) Merrill Nicholson of West Seattle, WA, Douglas (wife Tomoko) French of Galesburg, Kirtus French of Benson, AZ; and two great grandchildren, DJ French and Amelia Kenna Merrill.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and her brother Robert Gallis.

 Jeanne was a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church, Petersburg Women’s Club and PEO (Hu Chapter). 

 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 12 noon at Petersburg United Methodist Church in Petersburg. Rev. John Vidakovich will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Villas of Sherman or Petersburg United Methodist Church.
