Jean R. Sielschott

1917 - 2010

Jean R. Sielschott, 92, of Petersburg, formerly of Kilbourne and Havana, passed away at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010. She was born September 16, 1917, the daughter of Carl and Ella (Larson) Barrett in Havana. She married Adolph Sielschott on December 16, 1936 at her home. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1982.

Mrs. Sielschott is survived by one son, Delbert (Elsieann) Sielschott of Petersburg, daughters, Shirley (Lee) Shoemaker and Martha (Denny) Garren, both of Kilbourne, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by son-in-law Farrell Hendrix of Bath, daughter-in-law Joyce Sielschott of Chandlerville and sister, Margaret Friend of Havana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph, son, Kenneth Sielschott, daughter, Betty Hendrix, infant daughter, Ruth Marilyn and brothers, Jack and Fred Barrett.

She was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother and an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Kilbourne.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the services. Revs. Don Neisler and Delbert Penrod will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
